Digital Native vs. Digital Immigrant

During my freshman year in high school, I considered myself a digital immigrant because I was not technology savvy nor did I know how to use computers. I grew up in a household where their were no computers or technology devices. As I kept moving up through the years, my teachers would assign the students to complete research papers and projects in which we had to use the internet and computers. I gradually started adapting to using different techology devices and I got my first phone when I was a sophomore in high school. Now I do consider myself a digital native because I am comfortable with the technology advances ermerging. I am able to help my parents who I consider digital immigrants and help them adapt to the 21st century cyber world.
